What is the difference between soft washing and pressure washing?
Pressure washing uses 1,500–4,000 PSI of water force to blast away dirt. Soft washing uses under 100 PSI — the pressure of a garden hose — combined with a cleaning solution that kills organic growth chemically. Soft washing is required for roofs, painted surfaces, stucco, and vinyl siding.
Is soft washing safe for my landscaping?
Yes. We pre-wet all plants and landscaping around the work area before applying solution, and rinse thoroughly afterward. The cleaning agents are diluted to safe concentrations and biodegradable.
How long do soft washing results last?
On roofs, results typically last 2–5 years depending on tree cover and shade. On siding and stucco, expect 1–3 years before significant regrowth. North-facing or heavily shaded surfaces may need more frequent treatment.
Will soft washing remove black streaks from my roof?
Yes. Black streaks on roofs are caused by Gloeocapsa magma, a bacteria that feeds on limestone in shingles. Soft washing kills it completely — streaks disappear within days of treatment as the dead bacteria wash off in rain.
