Fleet, Industrial and Home Exterior Services in West Memphis, AR
West Memphis sits in Crittenden County at the point where Interstate 40 and Interstate 55 come together on the Arkansas bank of the Mississippi. Almost everything about the working economy here follows from that one fact. Freight that moves between the Midwest and the Gulf, or between the Atlantic coast and California, has a strong chance of passing through this interchange, and the businesses along Service Road and the I-55 frontage exist to feed, fuel, repair and stage the trucks that carry it.
We are a Conway contractor roughly 130 miles west, and we run Crittenden County as scheduled trips rather than same-day calls. That shapes what we are good for here: fleet programmes, distribution and warehouse sites, and residential work booked as a neighbourhood group rather than one house at a time. We would rather say that plainly than quote you a drive.
This Is a Fleet Town, and Fleet Washing Is Interval Work
A tractor-trailer that runs the I-40 corridor carries a specific and layered load of soil, and the reason a cheap wash leaves a unit looking dull is that only the top layer ever comes off:
- Road film — the bonded grey-brown layer of oil, tyre rubber and exhaust that a highway lays onto trailer sides. It does not rinse. It needs the right detergent and real dwell time to release, and if the chemistry is wrong you are just wetting it.
- Bug strike on the front cap, bumper and mirrors. Across the Delta in summer this is heavier than anywhere else we work, and it is acidic — left to sit it etches clearcoat permanently. It wants soaking, not pressure.
- Diesel soot around the stack and the rear of the unit.
- Brake and wheel dust, which is iron-bearing and will stain aluminium wheels if it is left through a season.
- Delta silt, a fine river-bottom dust that gets into every seam and is quite different from the red clay we deal with further west.
We wash on site so units never leave the yard and nothing is lost to deadhead time: fleet washing. For a fleet of any size the value is the interval, not the individual wash — a unit on a fortnightly or monthly programme stays presentable and inspectable, and a one-off wash on a neglected trailer costs more and achieves less.
One practical note specific to a crossroads town: if your drivers stage here but your yard is across the river, tell us at quoting. Work on the Tennessee side is a different tax and licensing position and we scope it separately, even when you run it as one account.
Warehouse and Distribution Exteriors
The distribution buildings along the interstates have the same handful of surfaces that generate every complaint and every inspection finding:
Dock aprons and trailer courts. Concrete at a dock takes hydraulic fluid, diesel, grease and the constant grinding of trailer landing gear. Degreasing this properly needs hot water and the right chemistry; a cold rinse spreads the oil into a wider stain and leaves the surface just as slick.
Compactor and dumpster pads. Biologically active, the usual source of a neighbouring-tenant complaint, and the surface most often skipped.
Building exteriors. Metal panel and tilt-up concrete streak badly in this humidity, and the north and shaded elevations grow algae that reads as neglect from the road.
The parking and traffic layout. Faded striping on a truck court is a safety issue before it is a cosmetic one, because it is what keeps trailer rows square and fire lanes clear.
That work sits under industrial pressure washing and degreasing, commercial exterior cleaning and parking lot striping and sealcoating. Inside the building, warehouse floor marking and high-bay dusting are the two items that come up most in audits, because nobody looks at the ceiling until someone with a clipboard does.
Containment Is the Thing Cheap Washers Skip
Washing trucks and dock concrete releases diesel, oil and metal-laden solids. Letting that run to a storm inlet is what earns a yard an enforcement letter, and in Crittenden County the inlets drain toward the river, which does not improve anyone’s position.
We berm or cover the inlets in the wash area, recover the water, and discharge to the point your site approves. Anything that has to leave goes out through your approved hauler as its own line on the quote, never buried in a lump sum. If you operate under a stormwater permit or an SWPPP, send it with the request and we will work to your plan instead of guessing at it.
Houses in West Memphis and Marion
The residential side here is real, and the Delta climate drives it. Humidity plus very little elevation change means organic growth is the dominant problem on a house in Crittenden County, not dirt:
- Siding and brick grow mildew and algae on the shaded elevations far faster than in central Arkansas. This is soft wash work — low pressure and the correct chemistry. Pressure on siding drives water behind it, and the damage shows up months later as a stain from the inside.
- Roofs streak black with gloeocapsa magma in this humidity. That is a soft wash too; anyone who puts a pressure washer on asphalt shingles is taking granules off and shortening the roof.
- Driveways, walks and patios go genuinely slippery here, because shaded concrete in high humidity grows a biofilm you cannot always see. Concrete cleaning is as much a slip-and-fall item as a curb-appeal one.
- Fences and decks, where the question is usually whether to clean and seal or to accept that a board is past saving. We will tell you which.
Those are house washing, soft washing and roof cleaning. At 130 miles, the honest position on a single house is that a neighbourhood group or an HOA block gets a much better number than one address called in alone, because the mobilisation is the same whether we do one house or eight. If you can gather neighbours, we will price it that way.
How Crittenden County Work Gets Scheduled
We fill eastern Arkansas runs rather than making dedicated trips. That is a disadvantage if you need somebody this afternoon and an advantage if you can plan: a fleet on a standing interval, a property manager with several buildings, or a group of neighbours all get materially better pricing than a same-week call.
$2M general liability with a COI and W-9 before we mobilise, crews trained to OSHA 10 and 40-hour HAZWOPER, DBIDS access for Department of Defense sites, PWNA and UAMCC members, in business since 2010. We complete your pre-task plan or JSA and work to your site’s orientation, permit and PPE rules rather than our own. For anything of size we walk it before quoting, and the quote comes back line by line with every adder shown separately.
