Industrial Tank Cleaning in Arkansas

American Services AR provides industrial tank cleaning across Arkansas for storage tanks, process and mix tanks, frac tanks, poly tanks and totes, inside and out. Our crews enter tanks under a written permit-required confined-space program, wash interiors with hot water, remove the residue, and hand the tank back ready for inspection, repair or its next product. On the outside we pressure wash tank shells, roofs, stairs and dikes, and we sandblast tanks for recoating. Crews are trained to OSHA 10 and 40-hour HAZWOPER and schedule 24/7 around your shutdowns. Interior tank cleaning is quoted per tank after a free site walk; exterior tank washing starts at $0.62 per square foot and tank sandblasting at $4.00 per square foot plus mobilization. Serving Arkansas since 2010, with 3,500+ jobs completed and $2M in general liability.

Tank cleaning services come down to three jobs: getting the residue out, getting the walls and floor clean enough for the next step, and getting the waste to the right place with the right paperwork. We do the first two with our own crews and equipment. Vacuum trucks, waste profiling and manifested disposal of regulated residue go through licensed partners, and the records come back to you.

Interior Tank Cleaning With Confined-Space Entry

Most storage tank cleaning ends with someone inside the tank. A tank is a permit-required confined space, so every entry runs under a written program that follows OSHA 29 CFR 1910.146:

  • Isolate and lock out. Lines are blanked or disconnected, mixers and pumps locked out, and the tank drained to its lowest point.
  • Test the air. A calibrated four-gas meter checks oxygen, flammability, hydrogen sulfide and carbon monoxide before entry and throughout the work.
  • Ventilate. Air movers run before and during entry, sized to the tank and its openings.
  • Attendant and rescue. An attendant stays outside at the manway for every entry, with a retrieval system and a rescue plan in place before anyone goes in.
  • Clean and remove. Hot water washing and hand tools lift scale, sludge and product film; residue is pumped or vacuumed out.
  • Inspect and close out. You get photos of the clean tank, the entry permit and a written service record.

Frac Tank and Mini-Frac Tank Cleaning

We clean frac tanks and mini-frac tanks on your site, so a rented or owned tank does not have to be hauled to a washout yard. Non-hazardous residue is removed and the tank is washed inside and out; tanks that held regulated material are cleaned with a licensed partner that handles the profiling and disposal.

Tank Washing on the Outside

Exterior tank washing uses hot water and degreaser from lifts to clear oil film, mildew, bird droppings and road dust from tank shells, roofs, ladders and stairs, with the runoff contained where your site requires it. It is priced like our industrial pressure washing: from $0.62 per square foot of washed surface with a $3,500 minimum. Dikes and containment floors are washed in the same visit, and when a lining is failing we can reline it with our secondary containment coatings.

Tank Sandblasting and Surface Prep

When a tank shell needs new paint, the coating is only as good as the prep under it. Our crews sandblast tanks to SSPC standards with a towable production rig: SSPC-SP 7 brush-off from $4.00 per square foot, SSPC-SP 6 commercial blast from $5.75 on new steel and $7.25 on painted or rusted steel, plus $1,500 mobilization and spent-media disposal. SSPC-SP 10 near-white is quoted per job. Lead-bearing coatings are excluded until tested.

Why Plants Call Us Instead of an Environmental Contractor

Environmental and emergency-response contractors often bill planned tank cleaning as time and materials: an hourly crew with a call-out minimum, equipment by the day, travel billed portal to portal and a percentage fee on top of the invoice. That structure fits an emergency. For a planned tank cleaning it means you find out the cost after the job. We base our crews in Conway, in the center of the state, walk the tank first, and send one written, itemized quote. When residue needs regulated disposal, we bring the licensed partner in and show that line on the same quote.

Industrial Tank Cleaning — Questions We Get

How much does industrial tank cleaning cost?
Interior tank cleaning is quoted per tank after a free site walk, because size, contents, sludge depth, access and disposal decide the time. Exterior tank washing starts at $0.62 per square foot of washed surface with a $3,500 minimum, and tank sandblasting starts at $4.00 per square foot plus $1,500 mobilization. Vacuum truck, profiling and disposal are billed at cost + 30%. Every quote is written and itemized.
Do you do confined-space entry for tank cleaning?
Yes. Every tank entry runs under our written permit-required confined-space program following OSHA 29 CFR 1910.146: isolation and lockout, air testing with a four-gas meter, ventilation, an attendant outside the manway, a retrieval system and a rescue plan in place before entry.
What kinds of tanks do you clean?
Above-ground storage tanks, process, mix and batch tanks, frac and mini-frac tanks, poly tanks, totes and IBCs, rinse and non-potable water tanks, oil-water separators and sumps, plus tank exteriors, roofs, stairs, dikes and containment areas.
What happens to the sludge and wash water?
Residue and wash water are pumped or vacuumed out and taken to a permitted facility. Vacuum trucks, waste profiling and manifested disposal go through licensed partners, and the disposal records come back to you. That line is billed at cost + 30% and shown on the quote.
Can you clean tanks that held fuel, oil or chemicals?
Yes, with the right steps first. We need the SDS of the last product. Non-hazardous residue is handled by our crew. Tanks with flammable or hazardous residue are degassed, tested and cleaned with a licensed hazardous-waste partner, and that work is quoted per job.
How long does tank cleaning take?
A small process tank or frac tank is often cleaned in a day. A large storage tank with heavy sludge can take several days. The site walk gives you a schedule, and we work nights, weekends and planned shutdowns.
Do you clean frac tanks on site?
Yes. We clean frac and mini-frac tanks where they sit, so the tank does not have to be hauled to a washout yard. Non-hazardous residue is removed and the tank is washed inside and out.
Can you sandblast a storage tank before it is repainted?
Yes. We blast tank shells to SSPC-SP 7 brush-off from $4.00 per square foot and SSPC-SP 6 commercial from $5.75 on new steel or $7.25 on painted or rusted steel, plus $1,500 mobilization. SSPC-SP 10 near-white is quoted per job.
Are you a tank cleaning company near me in Little Rock or Conway?
Yes. Our yard is in Conway, about 30 miles from Little Rock, and we clean tanks across Arkansas, from Fort Smith and Northwest Arkansas to Pine Bluff, El Dorado, Camden and Texarkana.
